Snooker Icon Ronnie O’Sullivan Receives Hong Kong Residency But Now Considering Middle-East Move

Given that Ronnie O’Sullivan is generally, and correctly, considered the best player to have ever picked up a snooker cue, it’s hardly a surprise that the amount of interest in luring the seven-time world champion to front new markets and ventures is so high. Now all that’s left is for the 49-year-old to work out where he wants to go next.

One imagines that the hugely popular player has a very packed schedule, made up of tournaments on the WST (World Snooker Tour), exhibitions and promotional activities, and managing his calendar must be something of a nightmare for those who take care of his day-to-day activities. 

Now it appears interest from Hong Kong and the Middle East are uppermost on his mind. O’Sullivan was bidding for a record eighth World Championship title earlier this year and did well to reach the semi-finals, having not played a great deal of events prior to the mammoth occasion.

As a fairly unpredictable character, Ronnie O’Sullivan is known for his differing moods when it comes to playing professional snooker. He already has over 500,000 followers on the platform, which goes some way to illustrating his pulling power.

The desire that O’Sullivan has for the game waxes and wanes, but right now he does seem to have his head in the right place, and that’s been evident in his performances on the green baize. 

After all, securing a semi-final finish in the Snooker World Championship off the back of little or no practice time is not something any other player could manage, and one wonders just what O’Sullivan is capable of if he puts himself fully back into the WST.

On his immediate plans, O’Sullivan elaborated.

“I’ll still try and play snooker, but I don’t know what the future looks like for me really. I’m moving away soon so I’ll just see how it goes. There’s a lot of more important things in life to worry about than a game of snooker.”

“For me, it’s a big part of my life, but I’ve got to try and figure out what my future looks like, whether it’s playing or not. I’ll be moving away to the Middle East but we’ll see how it goes. I might be back in six months, who knows!” O’Sullivan concluded.

One thing is for certain, so long as the experienced snooker icon wants to play the game, there’ll be a huge audience ready and waiting to see him in action, wherever in the world he picks up his cue.
