Aaron Rodgers's first audition game for 2025 goes well

Aaron Rodgers can say whatever he wants about playing all 17 games this season with the Jets. He can cite his commitment to the team. He can make vague suggestions that he might return to the Jets in 2025.

Here's the truth. He's auditioning for other teams that might want him in 2025.

The first installment went well. On Sunday in Miami, he threw for 300 or more yards for the first time since December 12, 2021, the last of his four MVP seasons. And the Jets played well enough to beat a desperate Dolphins team.

None of it means anyone will want him in 2025. But Rodgers is trying to put his best foot forward as he moves closer to putting the failed New York experiment behind him.

Yes, playing out the string entails a risk he'll be injured. Which might not be an ideal business decision. If, however, he hopes to do business in 2025, he needs to play at a high level over the final month of the season.

It also would help to, you know, win another game or two. Regardless of how he performs the rest of the way, he's 3-10 this year.
