As it turns out, quarterback Aidan O'Connell's injury is not as significant as previously feared.
According to multiple reports, an MRI confirmed O'Connell suffered a bone bruise in his knee. O'Connell has not yet been ruled out for next Monday's matchup with the Falcons.
O'Connell was taken off the field with a cart and had an air cast over his leg. Earlier on Monday, head coach Antonio Pierce said in his press conference that the Raiders were still awaiting test results. Clearly, those came back well for O'Connell.
O'Connell has appeared in six games with four starts this season, completing 63.2 percent of his passes or 899 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
If it turns out O’Connell can’t play, Desmond Ridder would get the start against Atlanta — the team that drafted him in 2022.
