A.J. Brown says his relationship with Jalen Hurts is "good"
Brown says his remarks about the passing game weren't about the QB.
After Sunday's win over the Panthers, Eagles receiver A.J. Brown sparked plenty of curiosity with his comments about the team's passing attack, which generated only 83 net yards in the game. On Monday, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham suggested a personal issue exists between Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts.
While Graham later tried to clean up the mess, his apparent recitation of P.R. talking points ended with this: "I want brothers to be able to just hash it out.”
Brown met with reporters on Wednesday. Via John Clark of NBC10, Brown said his relationship with Hurts is "good."
Brown added that his comments about the team's passing attack were "misconstrued." He said he wasn't talking specifically about Hurts. Brown said he spoke out because the wounds were self-inflicted.
The situation still bears watching. Last year, the Eagles were nine games over .500 when an elite team came to town for a late-season game and everything fell apart. This year, they're nine games over .500 with an elite team coming to town.
We still don't know with certainty why they fell apart last year. Will they fall apart again? We'll find out on Sunday, when the Steelers try to get their first win in Philadelphia since 1965.
