Avalanche acquiring Lindgren, Vesey from Rangers for Parssinen, de Haan
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that the Avalanche are acquiring defenceman Ryan Lindgren and forward Jimmy Vesey from the Rangers in exchange for a package that includes Juuso Parssinen, Calvin de Haan and draft picks.

The Colorado Avalanche are doing some early pre-trade deadline shopping.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Avalanche are acquiring defenceman Ryan Lindgren and forward Jimmy Vesey from the New York Rangers in exchange for a package that includes Juuso Parssinen and Calvin de Haan.
Friedman also reports that Colorado is sending a 2025 second-round pick draft pick (the better pick between the Hurricanes or Rangers) and a 2025 fourth-round pick (the better pick between the Avalanche of Canucks).
The Rangers are also retaining 50 per cent of Lindgren’s salary as part of the trade.
Lindgren, 27, is in his seventh NHL season and has scored 19 points while logging 19:56 of ice time per game for the Rangers. Originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in 2016, the left-shot D-man was traded to New York as part of a package for Rick Nash in 2018 and made his debut in the Big Apple in the 2018-19 season.
Vesey, meanwhile, will make Colorado his sixth NHL franchise. The 31-year-old left-winger has four goals and six points in 33 games with the Rangers this season.
Parssinen was acquired by the Avalanche from the Nashville Predators in December alongside a 2026 seventh-round pick for a 2027 third-rounder and Ondrej Pavel.
The 24-year-old has four goals and 11 points over 37 games between both stops.
de Haan will join Parssinen on the way to the Rangers. The 33-year-old is in the middle of his 13th NHL season. He has seven points in 44 games while averaging 14:55 of ice time.
