The Hurricanes posted video of their players walking to the rink at 5:38 p.m. ET. The team is scheduled to face the Maple Leafs at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
Earlier this year, the Utah Hockey Club had to make a similar move when it got stuck in traffic on the day of the Santa Claus Parade.
