The St. Louis Blues are signing defenceman Corey Schueneman to a one-year, two-way contract extension, the team announced Friday.
The contract is worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $425,000 at the American Hockey League level.
Additionally, the team has recalled defenceman Matthew Kessel from AHL Springfield Thunderbirds.
Schueneman has made four appearances for the Blues this season, all coming in November. He did not tally a point in those games but has seven blocked shots in 14:03 average time on ice.
At the AHL level, the 29-year-old has two goals and 10 assists in 35 games.
Originally signed by the Montreal Canadiens after going undrafted in 2019, the Milford, Mich. native has 23 goals and 79 assists in 279 career AHL games and two goals and five assists in 35 games at the NHL level.
Kessel, meanwhile, has suited up for 26 games with the Blues this season and has three assists. In 17 games with the Thunderbirds, he has four goals and seven assists.
