Boston University beat Cornell 3-2 in overtime while Western Michigan downed Massachusetts 2-1 to reach the the NCAA men’s Division I championship semifinals on Saturday.

They’ll learn their semifinal opponents on Sunday when Boston College faces Denver and Penn State meets UConn.

The heroes for Boston University might sound familiar to Montreal Canadiens fans: Cole Hutson scored a key goal in regulation while Quinn Hutson fired home the overtime winner.

Both are brothers of Habs defenceman Lane Hutson.

Cole Hutson’s goal gave BU a third-period lead before Cornell’s Jack O’leary tied the game with 5:30 remaining.

In OT, Quinn Hutson launched a long one-timer from the blue line that beat Cornell goalie Ian Shane.

Meanwhile, fourth-seeded Western Michigan fell behind 1-0 early but stormed back with a pair of power-play goals to eliminate UMass.

Liam Valente got Western Michigan on the board in the second period, while Tim Washe provided the winner by tipping home a point shot from Brian Kramer.

Hampton Slukynsky made 28 saves in the victory.

BU heads to its 25th Frozen Four in program history and third straight as it looks for a sixth title.

Western Michigan will play in the Frozen Four for the first time ever.
