Canada’s Cale Makar hoping to play against Finland
Speaking to reporters Sunday, Cale Makar is looking to do everything he can do to be in the lineup for Canada Monday against Finland.

In a game that is a must-win for Canada, the team is hoping their top defenceman will be able to suit up.
Speaking to reporters Sunday, Cale Makar said he is looking to do “everything I can to play” Monday against Finland.
Makar was on the ice with the players who did not play in Saturday’s game against the U.S. The team opted for an optional skate after arriving late in Boston Sunday morning.
Makar’s on-ice presence was notable after the Colorado Avalanche star defenceman missed Saturday’s contest with an illness.

“He was pretty sick last game, too, and he didn’t look it,” said Canadian forward and Avalanche teammate Nathan MacKinnon. “He’s so mentally tough that nothing phases that guy. He’s the best defenceman in the world, so him at 80 (per cent) is better than almost everybody anyway.”
