Owen Beck has been called up from the Laval Rocket by the Montreal Canadiens, the NHL team announced Monday.
The move comes with the team dealing with a few injuries, including forward Kirby Dach who is being evaluated for a lower-body injury. Josh Anderson, David Savard and Brendan Gallagher were also absent from practice.
Beck, the Canadiens second-round pick in 2022 (33rd overall), is second in Rocket scoring with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 47 games this season.
In six games with the Canadiens this season, Beck has zero points and a minus-2.
The Port Hope, Ont., native was a member of the 2024 Canadian team that won the world juniors in Halifax.
The Canadiens host the Hurricanes on Tuesday.
