The Montreal Canadiens got some good news on forward Josh Anderson ahead of Thursday night’s game.
Despite missing the team’s morning skate, Anderson is set to draw into the lineup against the San Jose Sharks after suffering a scary injury in Tuesday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Anderson exited the 4-0 win in the third period after getting tangled up with Hurricanes’ defenceman Jalen Chatfield and crashing face-first into the boards.
Though he managed to skate off on his own power and head back to the locker room, he did not return for the remainder of the game.
Anderson has nine goals and 10 assists in 57 games this season.
Kirby Dach was also absent from the team’s morning skate. However, it was announced that they would have a further update on the centreman in 24 hours. He is in line to miss Thursday’s game against the Sharks.
Dach missed Tuesday’s game against the Hurricanes with a lower-body injury. He last suited up on Saturday against the Senators and was considered day-to-day.
Before Tuesday’s absence, Dach had not missed a game this year for the Canadiens after ACL and MCL tears limited him to just two a season ago. In 57 games this year, he has 10 goals and 22 points.
