The Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues can all clinch a playoff spot Sunday from the comfort of their own arena.
Montreal can lock up the final berth in the Eastern Conference with a Blue Jackets loss to the Capitals. Columbus ruined the Habs’ Saturday chance to clinch after its 7-0 rout of Washington.
In the West, both the Wild and Blues will hope for a San Jose victory over Calgary. Minnesota can clinch a wild-card spot with a Flames loss of any fashion, while St. Louis needs the Flames to lose in regulation.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs can win the Atlantic for their first full-season division title since the 1999-2000 season.
The Maple Leafs will clinch the top spot if they beat the Hurricanes and Tampa Bay loses to Buffalo, or if they pick up one point in Carolina and the Lightning lose in regulation.
Then there’s the Winnipeg Jets. After clinching the Central Division Saturday, they can lock up the Presidents’ Trophy for the first time in franchise history.
