Canucks’ Quinn Hughes banged up in loss to Stars

Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes may be dealing with an injury.

The Norris Trophy winner was in visible discomfort while skating in the third period of Friday’s loss to the Dallas Stars. Hughes finished the game but only skated 23:26, down from his season average by nearly two minutes.

After the game, Hughes didn’t reveal much about the injury when speaking with Sportsnet’s Dan Murphy.

“We’ll see, I now have 48 hours to figure it out so we’ll see how it goes,” Hughes said.

Hughes has once again been the MVP for the Canucks through the first half of the season. He leads both his team and all NHL defencemen in scoring with 59 points through 47 games.

The Canucks return home and welcome the Detroit Red Wings to Rogers Arena on Sunday night.
