Capitals’ Logan Thompson to start Game 1 against Canadiens

The Eastern Conference champion Washington Capitals will have their No. 1 goalie back to start the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Logan Thompson will return from an upper-body injury to start in Game 1 against the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.
Thompson had been sidelined since April 2 with the injury.
The six-foot-four netminder posted a 31-6-6 record for the Capitals this season to go along with a 2.49 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.
Thompson, 28, made his playoff debut last season for the Vegas Golden Knights, starting four games to the tune of a 2.35 goals against average and .921 save percentage.
