Matt Gay hit a 50-yard field goal with seconds left to play in the first half and the Colts went into the locker room with a 13-7 lead over the Broncos. The field goal came after an incompletion to wide receiver Alec Pierce in the end zone on third down and Pierce needed medical attention on the field before making a slightly early trip to the locker room for further evaluation.
Anthony Richardson capped the opening drive of the game with a 23-yard touchdown run, but his inaccuracy through the air hindered his efforts to get the team back into the end zone. He's 5-of-17 for 56 yards and an interception. The Colts have picked up 105 yards on the ground and they'll be able to lean on that part of their game as long as they continue to lead.
The Broncos will try to take that lead away coming out of the break. Bo Nix is 11-of-15 for 66 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. The Denver run game has not shown any life, so the Broncos may need to lean on the rookie to pull off the comeback.
