Davante Adams dominates in 32-25 Jets win

When the Jets traded for wide receiver Davante Adams this season, they had games like the one they got in Jacksonville this Sunday in mind.

Adams caught nine passes for 198 yards and his last two catches of the day set up the game-winning score. Adams tapped his toes inside the field of play while reeling in a 23-yard catch on one third down and then turned a short pass from Aaron Rodgers into a 41-yard gain on another one.

The Jaguars stopped Adams on the 1-yard-line on that play and used their first timeout, but were able to hold onto the rest of them because Jets running back Breece Hall ran the ball in on the next snap. That gave the Jets a 32-25 lead and it left the Jaguars with 65 seconds on the clock. They moved the ball to midfield, but the Jets put an end to their four-game losing streak when cornerback Sauce Gardner picked off Mac Jones.

Adams's big day included a pair of touchdown catches, including a career-high 71-yard score. Adams is now tied with Bucs wideout Mike Evans for ninth in NFL history with 101 touchdown catches for his career.

Jones piloted the Jags to three long scoring drives in the first half and they led 13-7 at the break, but they were not able to dominate time of possession the same way after the break. He finished the day 31-of-46 for 294 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Wide receiver Brian Thomas caught both touchdowns and wound up with 10 catches for 105 yards overall.

The 3-11 Jags will be in Las Vegas next weekend for another game with major draft implications and the 4-10 Jets will return home to host the Rams.
