DeMeco Ryans: "A little early" to think about adding a receiver after Tank Dell injury

The Texans lost receiver Tank Dell on Saturday, to a dislocated knee. On Sunday, coach DeMeco Ryans was asked whether the team will be adding another receiver.

“A little early right now for me when it comes to that," Ryans told reporters. "But we’re always exploring everything we have to do to improve our team.”

Dell is a starter. His primary backup, John Metchie III, missed Saturday's game with a shoulder injury.

Earlier in the year, the Texans lost Stefon Diggs for the season with a torn ACL.

The other receivers currently on the roster are Nico Collins, Robert Woods, Steven Sims, and Xavier Hutchinson.

Three others are on the practice squad: Jared Wayne, Xavier Johnson, and Johnny Johnson III.

The Ravens cut receiver Diontae Johnson on Friday. The Texans could make a waivers claim on Monday, if they choose.
