Flames activate forward Yegor Sharangovich off injured reserve

The Calgary Flames are getting forward Yegor Sharangovich back from injury.

The team announced Saturday, ahead of its game against the Winnipeg Jets, that it has activated the 26-year-old forward off injured reserve.

Sharangovich was injured during the Flames’ final pre-season game, on Oct. 5, while taking an awkward fall onto his right leg. Two days later, the Flames placed him on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, and he missed the team’s first seven games of the regular season as a result.

The Belarusian is entering his second year in Calgary. He recorded 31 goals and 28 assists for a total of 59 points in 82 games last season.

Sharangovich is expected to return to action against the Jets. Catch Calgary and Winnipeg facing off on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, starting at 5 p.m. MT / 6 p.m. CT.
