After an underwhelming start to the season with the Calgary Flames, Andrei Kuzmenko could soon be on the move.
The Flames are discussing a deal that would send the 28-year-old forward to the Philadelphia Flyers, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Thursday.
Kuzmenko was a late scratch for Thursday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks.
Calgary acquired Kuzmenko midway through last season as part of the deal that sent Elias Lindholm to the Vancouver Canucks.
Kuzmenko enjoyed a hot start to his Flames career, as he finished with 14 goals and 11 assists in 29 games with Calgary in 2023-24.
But the Russian forward has struggled this season, with just four goals and 11 assists through 37 games.
The Flames are currently right in the thick of the playoff race and entered Thursday’s game one point back of the Canucks for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
