Subsequently, Devin Cooley was recalled from the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers on an emergency basis.
Vladar gave up eight goals on 26 shots during Thursday’s 8-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He holds a 6-6-4 record, 3.08 goals-against average and .885 save percentage in 16 games this season.
Cooley joined the Flames as an unrestricted free agent this past summer on a two-year deal. He posted a 2-3-1 record, 4.98 GAA and .870 save percentage in six games with the San Jose Sharks last season.
The 27-year-old from Los Gatos, Calif., has appeared in 18 games with the Wranglers and has a 14-3-0 record, 1.80 GAA and .942 save percentage.
The Flames (14-11-5) return to action Saturday night hosting the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
