Fourth time's the charm for Jahmyr Gibbs as touchdown gives Lions 10-0 lead in Chicago
It took Jahmyr Gibbs four straight runs, but he finally found the end zone today in Chicago.
It took Jahmyr Gibbs four straight runs, but he finally found the end zone today in Chicago.
First Gibbs got stopped inside the 1-yard line on a run that was initially ruled a touchdown but reversed by replay. Then Gibbs got stopped for no gain on back-to-back runs from the 1-yard line. That made three straight runs stopped at the 1.
The fourth run was finally a plunge into the end zone for Gibbs, and a 10-0 lead for the Lions over the Bears.
Lions running back David Montgomery, who is usually their preferred option for short-yardage runs, is out with a knee injury, so Gibbs is getting the carries that would ordinarily go to Montgomery.
The Lions have been controlling the game in the early going, and the Bears are going to need to find some answers.
