The Carolina Hurricanes will be without their No. 1 netminder for the foreseeable future.

Frederik Andersen is expected to miss eight to 12 weeks after undergoing knee surgery, the team said Thursday

Andersen, 35. hasn’t played since Oct. 26 after being sidelined with an undisclosed injury.

He was off to a strong start to the season before the injury, starting 3-1-0 with a .941 save percentage and 1.49 goals-against average through his first four games.

With Andersen unavailable, Pyotr Kochetkov has taken over as the Hurricanes’ primary goaltender.
