Carolina Hurricanes got an update on William Carrier, but it’s not the one they were hoping for.
Per Walt Ruff, a team reporter, head coach Rod Brind’Amour said the team will be without Carrier (lower-body injury) for “at least a couple of months” after he underwent surgery.
Although Carrier will be away from the team for a while, there is still a chance that he could return this season.
So far this season the 30-year-old from LaSalle, Que., has played in 39 games, recording four goals and nine points while averaging 11:37 in time on ice.
Carrier is in the first year of a six-year, $12 million contract with the Hurricanes, carrying an AAV of $2 million.
