I Really Don't See any way of Diego Beating Volkanovski
I know people are saying that Volkanovski is old and that he is coming from back to back ko losses, and while that is true. I still think he performs a masterclass on Diego Lopez and quite frankly on one of the easiest performances in his entire career as well, seriously I'm 100% certain Volkanovski is going to dominate I don't see Lopez beating him, like at all. Diego is just another contender who is hot right now, he is NOT good and I mean it, he might be the worst title contender we've seen in the history of the featherweight division, and I'm not hating on the guy. Indeed he is fun to watch and he is still young enough to improve, so nothing but respect BUT he looked so mid against 4 hour notice Dan Ige it's insane. His only "good" performance was against washed Ortega and STILL couldn't finish him AND he look tired asf in that 3rd round, and his fans were hyping him up as if he won against Movsar lol, his striking is very mid as well, the only thing he has is power tbh and good bjj but that's no going to be a problem for Volkanovski, Islam Makhachev couldn't tap him out. So yeah the only time Volk is going to be in danger will be in the first round where Lopez usually unleashes scary power shots which I still think the chance of finishing Volk is going to be extremely low, even if it touches his chin I don't see Volk going out. Neither Ortega or Ige went out so I don't see Volk who has taken more than a year off to rest and comeback completely prepared go out. When you look at Volk's career he has insane wins, his 50-45 win against Holloway showed he is one of the best strikers ever, beating both Ortega and Islam and not only that but proved the best grapplers can't submit him and can't take him down, so I think Volk is light years ahead of Diego in basically everything, Lopez doesn't bring anything new to the table, his titleshot is questionable as well, everyone Volk faced in the last 7-8 years is much better than Diego, so 49-46 decision win for Volk is 100% coming up. submitted by /u/Impressive-Step6377 [link] [comments]
