The Eagles quarterback was ruled out with a concussion.
He was hit by Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner as Hurts dove head first on a 13-yard scramble in the first quarter. Linebacker Frankie Luvu then hit Hurts in the head and neck area. Officials threw no flags.
Hurts was 1-of-4 for 11 yards and ran for 41 yards on three carries.
Kenny Pickett replaced Hurts and is 5-of-7 for 70 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Eagles lead 21-7 as Saquon Barkley has run for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
