Jets’ Adam Lowry returns from eight-game absence vs. Blues

The Winnipeg Jets captain is back in action.

The team confirmed that forward Adam Lowry will make his return to the lineup in the Jets’ first game since returning from the 4 Nations break.

Prior to the break, Lowry was sidelined for eight games with an upper-body injury suffered on Jan. 20 against the Utah Hockey Club. He returned to practice on Wednesday.

In his absence, the Jets went 8-0 with wins against teams like the Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes.

“It’s made it a little easier sitting out knowing that the guys are playing as well as they are,” Lowry said after Wednesday’s practice. “To see the strides we’re making, to see some key wins … it’s been great.

“I don’t wanna come back into the lineup and things to change, but I’m really excited to hopefully be back.”

Lowry has done well as the team’s third-line centre, tallying 11 goals and 15 assists in 48 games for the first-place Jets this season.

Arniel also told reporters that centre Morgan Barron, who has been out since Jan. 28 with an upper-body injury as well, was skating on his own at Wednesday’s practice and has more work to go before being activated.
