Cleveland running back D’Onta Foreman lost the football just before he could cross the goal line, with the Bengals recovering at the 1-yard line. Jerome Ford had gotten the Browns deep into Cincinnati territory with a 66-yard gain on the game’s first play from scrimmage.
The Browns gave up 5 free yards with a neutral-zone infraction and then the Bengals got to work. The club did not face a third down en route to the end zone, as quarterback Joe Burrow got a pass off just before he could hit the ground for a 2-yard touchdown to Tee Higgins.
Burrow was 4-of-4 for 41 yards on the possession. Tee Higgins caught three passes for 27 yards with Ja’Marr Chase catching one for 14. Chase also had a 7-yard carry.
Chase Brown also picked up 46 yards on three carries, including a 22-yard gain.
