Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen returned to practice this week, but his return to game action will have to wait a little longer.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said at his Friday press conference that Allen will not play against the Eagles on Sunday. Allen is on injured reserve after tearing his pectoral earlier this season and his return to practice came as a bit of surprise because the team initially said that his season was over.
The Commanders can clinch a playoff spot this weekend with a win and losses by the Falcons and either the Seahawks or Rams. If they don't, they will have a chance to do so against the Falcons in Week 17.
Quinn said that no other Commanders players have been ruled out. Tight end Zach Ertz and safety Jeremy Chinn are both trying to clear the concussion protocol in time to play on Sunday.
