Justin Herbert has limited practice Thursday

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert returned to practice Thursday but only on a limited basis. He has a left ankle injury and a thigh contusion that kept him out of Wednesday's session.
Herbert said Wednesday that his left ankle sprain is "not as severe" as the right high ankle sprain he dealt with earlier this season.
"It's definitely painful enough to be able to miss a practice, but I felt like I've been able to move around a little bit better this week than I did after Carolina where I was put into a boot and had difficulty walking. I think we're farther along this week," Herbert said, via Eric Smith of the team website.
Herbert is wearing a sleeve on his left leg as he also deals with swelling to his left knee.
"I couldn't tell you exactly when. It was just something that popped up," Herbert said. "Just working with trainers and doctors and compressing it, keeping it warm. Doing everything we can to limit that swelling."
Herbert is expected to play Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Outside linebacker Joey Bosa (hip) also returned to limited work after sitting out Wednesday.
Those were the only two changes to the team's report.
Tight end Will Dissly (shoulder), and wide receiver Jalen Reagor (finger) remained out of practice.
Wide receiver Derius Davis (hamstring), safety Tony Jefferson (hamstring), wide receiver Ladd McConkey (knee/shoulder) and linebacker Deznel Perryman (groin) again were limited.
