Kings’ Drew Doughty out vs. Canucks

The Los Angeles Kings will be their No. 1 defenceman when they face off against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night.

The Kings announced just before puck drop that Doughty will not play against their divisional rival with a lower-body injury and is listed as day-to-day.

Doughty played for Canada at the 4 Nations tournament but has participated in their first two games back from the break.

It’s not clear when he suffered the injury, but he did not make his season debut until February after undergoing surgery on a broken ankle suffered in a pre-season game.

In eight games this season for the Kings, the 35-year-old has one goal and three assists.
