During his Tuesday morning interview on 97.1 The Ticket, head coach Dan Campbell confirmed a report by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press that the club is signing linebacker Anthony Pittman off of the Jaguars practice squad.
Pittman, 28, was with Detroit from 2019-2023. He appeared in one game as an undrafted rookie before spending the 2020 season on the practice squad. He emerged as a key special teams contributor in 2021 and played every game for Detroit through 2023. Last season, he was on the field for 80 percent of special teams snaps while playing just four defensive snaps.
He’s appeared in one game for Jacksonville this season, playing 16 special teams snaps.
Still in position for the NFC’s No. 1 seed, the Lions will be on the road in Week 16 to face the Bears.
