Maple Leafs’ Max Pacioretty unlikely to play this weekend

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube told reporters forward Max Pacioretty is unlikely to play this weekend as the team returns from the 4 Nations Face-Off break.

Berube said Pacioretty, who tweaked something during Wednesday’s practice, tried to do some stuff during Thursday’s morning skate but was a “no-go” and left the ice.

The 36-year-old Pacioretty has been limited to 37 games this season due to injuries and has five goals and eight assists.

He signed a one-year contract with the club in October.

The Maple Leafs (33-20-2) return to action Saturday when they host the Carolina Hurricanes and visit the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
