The Toronto Maple Leafs are managing their books ahead of the trade deadline.
Forward Ryan Reaves has been placed on waivers by the club, Sporstnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Thursday.
Reaves originally joined the Maple Leafs as a free agent in 2023, penning a three-year, $4.05-million deal to give the team a more physical edge.
However, the 38-year-old has been a sporadic contributor on the ice since joining. He is goalless and has two assists through 35 appearances this season, and had four goals and two assists in 49 showings last year.
Over his 84 games with the Maple Leafs, the Winnipeg native has averaged 7:59 of time on ice and has 77 penalty minutes to his name.
