The list of injured Toronto Maple Leafs is growing by the day.
On Wednesday, forward Max Domi was placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury retroactive to Nov. 16, the team announced. Domi won’t be eligible to return until Sunday when the Maple Leafs host Utah.
In a corresponding move, the team recalled forward Nikita Grebenkin from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. If Grebenkin cracks the lineup for Toronto’s contest against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday, it will be his NHL debut.
Domi, 29, has struggled to get things going offensively this season. In 19 games, Domi has recorded six assists and is still looking for his first goal.
In 13 games with the Marlies this season, Grebenkin, 21, has four goals and six assists.
