Most impressive late career resurgence

Who, in your opinion, had the most impressive late career run? The first one that comes to mind is Robbie Lawler. He got to the UFC so young. When he started knocking fools out in Strikeforce, I didn't think he'd even make it back to the UFC, not to mention become champion. Randy Couture taking out Tim Sylvia, then beating down Gabriel Gonzaga with a broken fuckin arm was the ultimate showing of Dad Strength. This one holds a special spot in my heart: Miko Cro Cop. The man who got me into MMA, his run in Pride was the stuff of legend. Right leg: hospital. Left leg: cemetery. But his time in the UFC broke my God damn heart. Many of our hearts, I'm sure. Then, suddenly, he was fuckin people up again. The Cro Cop of old was back! Just as swift as it was given tho, it was taken away. A post fight stoke put a stop to a ten fight win streak. Was a UFC return probable? Not with the USADA around lol. Still, I will always wonder how many more highlight reel knock outs we could have gotten, had fate not stepped in. submitted by /u/MyNameisBaronRotza [link] [comments]
