Myles Garrett questionable to return with eye injury
Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett suffered a left eye injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.
Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett suffered a left eye injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.
The injury occurred on a Patrick Mahomes 6-yard touchdown pass to Noah Gray, which capped a 14-play, 87-yard drive. Garrett was rushing against Joe Thuney, who’s playing left tackle after last week’s injury to D.J. Humphries. Thuney apparently scraped Garrett across the face, potentially hitting his eye.
Garrett threw his helmet off and faced down on the ground as Mahomes waved over to the sideline for trainer assistance.
After getting up, Garrett immediately went to the locker room for further evaluation. Thuney came up to Garrett as the defensive end was exiting the field, ostensibly to wish him well.
The Chiefs have a 14-0 lead over the Browns late in the second quarter.
UPDATE 2:27 P.M. ET: Garrett has returned to the field with a visor on his helmet late in the second quarter.
