The NHL is calling out Josh Norris for diving.
The league fined the Ottawa Senators forward $2,000 on Friday for what it says was a second instance of diving or embellishment this season.
NHL Rule 64 “is designed to bring attention to and more seriously penalize players (and teams) who repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties.” A first instance draws a warning, while second citation comes with a $2,000 fine.
The league says Norris was issued a warning for an incident in a game on Nov. 7 versus the New York Islanders.
The second instance was Dec. 5 against the Detroit Red Wings, resulting in the fine. Red Wings forward Marco Kasper was assessed a minor penalty for holding on the play.
