Nick Chubb: I'd like to finish here, Cleveland just means a lot to me

Browns running back Nick Chubb has now played seven games this season since returning from the second devastating knee injury of his career.
While Chubb’s production has not been up to his previous standards — he’s averaging just 3.1 yards per carry on 93 attempts so far this season — and the Browns are no longer in playoff contention, he said this week that he’s not thinking about rest to prevent further wear and tear on his body.
“I have a long way to go before I shut anything down,” Chubb said, via Dan Labbe of Cleveland.com. “So I mean, every time I go out there, it’s practice reps, game reps, it’s me just getting better physically, mentally, all around, so I’m nowhere near shutting it down. Not even a thought.”
But Chubb, 28, is also in the final year of his contract with the Browns. Having played his entire career with Cleveland, Chubb said he’s not looking to go anywhere else.
“I would say it’s important. I started here. I’d like to finish here,” Chubb said. “Cleveland just means a lot to me. Everything we’ve been through, ups and downs, but I’m proud to be drafted here.”
Chubb has averaged 5.1 yards per carry since the Browns selected him in the second round of the 2018 draft. He’s No. 3 on the franchise’s all-time rushing list behind Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly.
