Odell Beckham Jr. has "short list" of teams he'd play for

The Dolphins waived receiver Odell Beckham on Friday. On Monday, he'll either be claimed on waivers or become a free agent.

NFL Media reported on Sunday morning that Beckham has a "short list" of teams he'd want to play for, with the goal of landing in the "right situation."

If he's claimed on waivers, it won't matter if the team that acquires his contract is on Beckham's list. If he wants to play, he'll have to play for that team.

His preferences become relevant only if he goes unclaimed and becomes a free agent.

With a prorated minimum salary, it's a good deal — as long as the team is willing to assume the guaranteed contract.

It's still not clear whether anyone will want him. He's nowhere close to what he once was. Is what he has still good enough?

The Chiefs and Steelers could use help at the position. The Ravens arguably do, too; they employed OBJ in 2023 — for a lot more than the veteran minimum salary.
