Edmonton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and rolled to a 7-1 victory over the Utah Hockey Club.
It was the third win in a row for the Oilers, who are now two points back of the Vegas Golden Knights for first in the Pacific Division. Vegas has a game in hand.
Zach Hyman scored two goals for the Oilers, while Connor McDavid, Vasily Podkolzin, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Viktor Arvidsson also scored. Sean Durzi was the lone Utah player to beat Edmonton goalie Calvin Pickard.
Utah is now four points out of the second and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
Edmonton hosts the West-leading Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
