It’s going from bad to worse for the Edmonton Oilers.

Minutes after losing captain Connor McDavid to a lower-body injury and already without leading scorer Leon Draisaitl, goaltender Stuart Skinner was pulled from Thursday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets after a collision.

Skinner appears to have been taken into concussion protocol late in the third period after Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi collided with the goaltender and made contact with his head.

Backup Calvin Pickard came onto the ice in relief.

Skinner, 26, was appearing in his 47th game this season and had a 23-17-4 record coming into Thursday’s game. Prior to his exit, he made 13 saves on 16 shots for a .813 save percentage. On the season, he’s posted a .897 save percentage with two shutouts.
