Packers-Lions sets regular-season streaming record for Prime Video
Week 14 started with a bang.
Week 14 started with a bang. And the Packers-Lions shootout shot down the previous regular-season streaming record.
Via Prime Video, the game attracted 17.29 million viewers, on average. That passes the prior record, set in September for Cowboys-Giants, by more than a million viewers.
The game came three days after Browns-Broncos mustered only 12 million viewers on ESPN. The number was so low that ESPN didn't even send out a press release.
It's more proof that the pivot to streaming has happened. And it shows that fans will continue to congregate wherever good games are being played. And it reconfirms the NFL's decision to nudge Disney to simulcast more Monday night games on ABC.
By next year, it won't be a surprise if every MNF game lands on ABC.
