Panthers sign LB Chandler Wooten off of 49ers practice squad

Linebacker Chandler Wooten is back with the Panthers.

The team announced that they signed Wooten to their active roster on Tuesday. Wooten played for the Panthers from 2022 until he was released in November and he was signed off of the 49ers' practice squad.

Wooten had seven tackles in three games for the Panthers this season. He had nine tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 17 games for the team over his first two NFL seasons.

The Panthers had three linebackers on the roster for their Week 16 win over the Cardinals, so Wooten provides them with some additional depth for the final two weeks of the year.
