The Nashville Predators will be without their captain for at least one game.
Star defenceman Roman Josi is listed as day-to-day and will not play in Thursday’s game against the Dallas Stars, the team announced.
Josi sustained the injury Tuesday against the Calgary Flames, though it’s unclear when the injury actually happened. He recorded just 5:32 in ice time before exiting the game.
It’s another blow to a struggling Predators team, who are already down Gustav Nyquist, Ryan O’Reilly and Jeremy Lauzon. The team also announced Thursday that defenceman Alexandre Carrier has been placed on the IR.
Josi, the 2020 Norris Trophy winner, has been an offensive bright spot for the disappointing Predators, scoring seven goals and registering 16 assists to lead the team with 23 points. His seven markers are tied for second, behind only Filip Forsberg, who has nine.
The Predators sit last in the NHL with a 7-16-6 record and minus-28 goal differential.
