Referee Mitch Dunning was taken off the ice on a stretcher following a collision with Colorado Avalanche defenceman Josh Manson.
Dunning, a former OHL player, was backing up toward the middle of the ice when Manson skated into him from behind at the Flyers’ blue line.
The ref fell hard on his back and was applauded by fans as he was wheeled off the ice.
There was no immediate update on Dunning’s status.
