Sweden named Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Rickard Rakell as an injury replacement for Vegas Golden Knights centre William Karlsson for the 4 Nations Face-Off on Tuesday.

Karlsson is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Rakell leads the Penguins with 23 goals and is second on the team with 45 points in 53 games this season.

The 31-year-old won a gold medal with Sweden at the world championship in 2018.

Victor Hedman was named Sweden’s captain last week with Mattias Ekholm, Erik Karlsson and William Nylander serving as assistants.
