Another potential trade chip is officially off the board ahead of Friday’s deadline.

The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a two-year, $8 million ($4 million AAV) extension with forward Jordan Greenway, the team announced Wednesday.

Greenway, 28, has only managed to suit up for 26 games with the Sabres this season due to a middle-body injury suffered in December that required surgery. However, in that time, he has three goals and five assists and averages 15:57 of time on ice per game.

The six-foot-six winger joined Buffalo ahead of the 2023 trade deadline from the Minnesota Wild.

He was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.

Originally drafted by the Wild 50th overall in 2015, Greenway has 55 career goals and 104 assists in 427 games over eight seasons in the NHL.
