Sakuraba might be a better pro wrestler turned MMA fighter than Brock Lesnar
I don't know if this is just a no brainer in this sub or if it's a hot take, but the more I think about it, the more I feel this way. Lesnar's biggest win is against an aging Randy Couture which is still impressive, but I think Sakuraba defeating Royce Gracie in the time where Gracie Jiu Jitsu seemed unbeatable, in the ruleset that he chose, was greater, as it was a huge shift in the history of MMA. And then you have his wins over former/future UFC champions such as Shamrock, Randleman, Newton and the gigantic Rampage Jackson, which I think surpass Brock's wins over Carwin, Mir and Herring, especially considering the huge size advantage many of Sakuraba's opponents had. This is just something I wanna post as a fan of both MMA and pro wrestling, as I personally just thought it was obvious that Brock was the best pro wrestler turned MMA fighter, but taking a look at the Gracie Hunter really blew my mind. submitted by /u/EMERALDTHEHERO [link] [comments]
