Eagles running back Saquon Barkley missed big chunks of Sunday's win over the Steelers and he discussed why Kenneth Gainwell saw more playing time when he spoke to reporters after the game.
Barkley said that he's "dealing with a little something," but declined to expand on just what was bothering him during the game.
"I'm not going to go too much into that, but the guys stepped up big, Kenny was able to make some big plays for us and I was able to tough it out," Barkley said, via E.J. Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Barkley finished the day with 19 carries for 65 yards and now has 1,688 rushing yards for the season. That leaves him on pace to rush for more than 2,000 yards — about 2,050 yards — this season, but he is no longer on pace to surpass Eric Dickerson's single-season record of 2,105 yards.
