Saquon Barkley has four carries for 37 yards, TD as Eagles take 7-0 lead

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley fell behind NFL record pace last week when he played only 49 of 80 offensive snaps while dealing with "something." He could get back on pace today.

Barkley has 37 yards and a touchdown on four carries after the Eagles' first drive.

Barkley, who entered today averaging 120.6 yards per game, needs to average 139 rushing yards in the Eagles’ final three games to break Eric Dickerson’s single-season record of 2,105 yards.

He scored on a 2-yard touchdown run with 11:15 remaining in the first quarter, giving the Eagles a 7-0 lead.

The Eagles had to go only 49 yards, which they did in eight plays, after stopping the Commanders on a fourth-down play. The Commanders started their first drive at their own 40 after Braden Mann's kickoff went out of bounds.

But Jordan Davis and Josh Sweat stopped Commanders running back Brian Robinson for no gain on fourth-and-1. That set up the Eagles' short touchdown drive.
